Actor Rajesh Dhruva, who recently began learning to play the chenda melam, revealed that it took him 15 days to master this traditional percussion instrument from Kerala. Rajesh, who made his debut in Kannada cinema with Shri Balaji Photo Studio, is now collaborating with director Sukesh Shetty on their upcoming film Peter, where the storyline revolves around the chenda melam. "To ensure an authentic representation, I decided to learn the fundamentals of chenda playing. After dedicated training for 15 days, I gained the necessary skills to play the instrument. Additionally, I focused on weight loss training to embody the appearance of a chenda artist," he shared. Rajesh emphasized, "In our film, we seamlessly integrated folk music into the narrative to offer a fresh and captivating experience for the audience. It's essential in today's competitive film industry to engage and persuade viewers to choose our film." Despite his success in movies, Rajesh mentioned his intention to continue acting on television for a consistent income. He expressed, "I have no limitations. Television offers stability in earnings. Once I've firmly established myself in the film industry, I can explore concentrating on one medium."
